Okay, I've tried to read and talk to people who have been around boats longer than me. I own an older Fish N Ski w/ a Merc 1500 outboard. It has a switch to bring the outboard up to trailer and of course lower it to power the boat in the drink. It was my first boat. Only used it a few times last season.
Now, I purchased another older boat with a Volvo-Penta AQ130c and 270 stern drive.
It also has a switch to raise and lower the drive.
I kind of thought that both of these were just considered POWER TILT and to only be used when stopped/idling.
I was talking to a co-worker about the I/O I just acquired and he said that is all there is is 1 setup. If it raises/lowers electrically then it's also POWER TRIM. Wow, talk about confusing. I could of sworn I read POWER TILT should only be used in IDLE or stopped ????????
Sorry for the rookie question but I'm getting confused because people I've been talking to who I thought were "experts" have conflicting answers LOL.
....sooooooooo...... I thought I'd ask the true experts.
