Power Tilt

Hi everyone!<br />Before I see a mechanic, My power tilt raises the engine but when I try to lower the engine nothing happens. There is noise when I press the switch I get a clicking noise from the side of the engine. Does anyone know if the motor would go bad just one way, or can it be electrical? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

You may just have a bad solenoid. A manual for whayever type of motor you have will tell you how to trouble shoot it.

Thnx I'll check it out, the only thing is Ive traced the wires to a big black box mounted on the side of my outboard. I can here it clicking inside but it seems there isnt a way to open it! <br />It is a suzuki 150. Does anyone know if I can reverse the switch wires to see if that would work?
