Diagrams in manual is very confusing. I got this boat and the bolt for the pump motor assembly was removed. I threw the bolt in and now I am checking the connections. I do not have a Trim/Tilt gauge, and the only buttons are on the motor cover.

There is a 5pin connector that I show in the pic below. Could someone tell me what that goes to? I am assuming the non present trim/tilt gauge?

Could someone tell me were the round 5 pin connector goes.

We can help you better if you will tell us just what motor, year , and serial number of the motor that you have.

Re: Power Trim Tilt wiring question HELP PLEASE??

sorry, this is a 1989 Evinrude 50HP (E50TLCEC). there is nothing that the round 5pin can plug into...so I am assuming this part of the controls is missing. Is it the tilt trim gauge thats missing?

Also, does anyone know how I can disable the Power tilt trim so I can get this thing in the water? lol I have been rebuilding the lower uimnt for a month, and now this is holding me up. Can I Secure the motor without the power tilt trim??

The three primary wires are: RED=Power. Blue=UP. Green=Down.

You can secure the engine by using the tilt lock. It is the lever on the Port side of the engine.

I found the problem (I think)?? I see in the manual (I was trouble shooting under wrong motor. Manual has multiple for each procedure).

The VRO that was removed from this motor...has power tilt trim controls wired into the panel! I see the "other end" of the 5-pin connector in the photo attached here. This is probably what the gauge was plugged into as well.
