Ok guys, are u ready for anothr noob question? Do tha pre-alphas (15 spline x 1") have the same spline and diameter drive as the Alphas and bravos? We really need a new prop as ours is bent dinged and really tore up from cavitation.

Re: Pre-Alpha props

forgot to say, ya can always get what ya got fixed too. send it to a prop shop and they'll make what ya got look and perform like new. i sent one in last year thru my mercrusier dealer, came back very nice. about half the price of a new prop. mine are aluminum, but the prop shop guys can do SS too if that's what ya got. had me a pwc SS impeller done that way. it came back just dandy too...about 1/3 the price of a new SS impeller for that one.......

Re: Pre-Alpha props

Yeh, ive seen the adpters for the universal props. I was wonderin if the spline and diameter on the INSIDE of the adapter was the same for pre-alpha, alpha, and bravo?

Well our prop is really sad and the wrong pitch to. with our re-power well be able to run a couple more inches pitch i think and we want to go SS as well.

thanks, we like it, we wanna have it ready for spring. Go up to Ruth lake about an hour from here.

Re: Pre-Alpha props

autotech1, i don't think what i'm showin ya is a universal prop & adaptor. it's a flo-torq II mercruiser prop.

http://sites.mercurymarine.com/portal/page?_pageid=126,50050,126_50052&_dad=portal&_schema=PORTAL
(sorry, yer gonna have to copy and paste the link, i can't seem to get it to become a link)

# on my prop is 48 832830A45 19P, which seems to fall into line with mercruser prop part #'s.
I was wonderin if the spline and diameter on the INSIDE of the adapter was the same for pre-alpha, alpha, and bravo?

w/o knowing the facts, i will speculate that yes for pre alpha and alpha. i say that based on the fact that ya can use a alpha 1 lower on a pre alpha upper.....though when i went to the flo-torq II prop, i did have to get a thinner thrust washer and should have R&Red the trim anode to the shorter version as the prop i got interfered with the long trim anode on the model I drive i got.....i ground the trim anode to fit as i couldn't get the darn bolt loose to R&R it. i will not speculate on the bravo drive part of yer question as i just plaine don't know the answer to that.....
