So I bit the bullet and bought an 03 Premier Grand Majestic PTX with a Honda 225 OB to replace my Sun Tracker. Few ?s if i could.

Speedo - doesn't work. Looks like the pitot is connected properly to the drive unit of the honda. whats the best way to trouble shoot this? my thought was to disconnect both ends and blow out the line with pressure. any way to test with without getting wet? i found a faija (sp?) manual for honda instruments and they say not to pressure the hose while the speedo is attached. can i just blow with my mouth to see if the speedo moves? i could also just add a pitot on one of the tubes but i'd like to know the speedo at least works before i go to the effort.

idle overheat alarm. then the motor idles for over a few minutes the buzzer goes off. there is no water temp gauge/water pressure gauge. there is good flow from the "pisser". i was told that the way to fix it was to raise the idle speed, but that would be bad on the drive gear as it would make it shift harder? doesn't really make sense to me. where would you start?

can i run the motor on the hose? i'm assuming i need some muffs to cover the water intakes. however, there is a hose connection on the motor. can i just hook up a hose and run it. i read the manual but it seems to indicate the only use for this hose attachment was for flushing.

sorry for the long post. beyond these few problems, the boat is in great shape and the PTX package is awesome. makes my Sun Tracker seem like a canoe.
