Primary Ignition Coil

Can anybody tell my what the symtoms are when a primary ignition coil goes bad and a bench test. This is on a DT65 1986

Also the same for the Ignition Timing Coil.

Japanese electronice are usually 100% reliable. When a coil goes bad, you have no spark on that cylinder. What's wrong with the engine's operation? Maybe you're headed in the right direction, or not....What's the first digit of the serial #?
