primer bulb location?

I just installed a new yamaha 150. Due to all wiring and hose routing through one opening on the motor and then through the large rigging hose the primer bulb ends up in the underside of the floor. I don't like this for fear the bulb should leak. Does anyone have any suggestions.

Without seeing your installation I couldn't offer any suggestion other than since the fuel bulb needs to be squeezed on every cold start up and also after long shutdowns during the day you have to find a more accesible place than under the floor.

New lengths of hose so the bulb is exposed.

To General Outboard

If that's a carbed 150, you need to be able to get at it every time you start the motor when it's cold. If it's an EFI, HPDI, or 4-stroke you only have to pump it the first time of the season. In those cases I like to put it in an easily accessible place, but not out in the motorwell.

Most bulbs tend to push better than pull so closer to the tank is better but it should work anywhere. It just might pick up a bit sooner if its closer to the supply.
