The primer bulb was replaced by the shop I bought the boat from. Warranty work. Because the old one broke apart and clogged the carbs. So they cleaned the carbs and replaced the primer. That took 2 weeks to fix but anyway that's.long story. Well I get it back today and bring it to the water to go fishing. I squeeze the primer bulb and I hear air at the connection at the motor. I keep squeezing it and now I see gas pouring every time I squeeze it. The bulb never got hard. I get the motor running and me and my son go out. Get past the no wake zone and give it gas. Seems to be running ok. I'm only make about 4000 rpm with a 3 blade prop. Seems low and moving about 17 mph. It's slower than before all of the problems. the motor shut down in the middle of the lake. It started but once I put it into gear it stalls out. So the trolling motor got us home. I guess my question is if I fix the leaky connection will that fix my problem with a new connector or should I bring it back to him because there is more problems other than the connection

Let's hope it does as air in the fuel system would be the number one cause of the problem's you are experiencing. If it don't fix it than the other work performed might not have been done correctly but you can't know for sure until the leaking connections is working properly.

What does it appear to take to repair a fuel leak at the engine since you have a new primer bulb? Was the hose replaced as well or just the primer bulb itself?

New hose, primer bulb, and the connector that connects to the motor. I put another connector on the hose and it stopped leaking but still does not get firm. I noticed when it's running the the bottom carb has a slight leak on the bottom of the carb on a brass looking screw with a spring on it. And I see it spitting gas out of the throat of the carb. I pulled the plugs top 2 plugs are wet. Bottom 2 are damp. Don't know what this means but it's not running right so it's not good.

brian, sounds like you have multiple problems. Do you know for certain that all cylinders are indeed firing? You can easily check that by cranking the engine and remove one spark plug wire at a time to see of the engine changes speed. If it does, that cylinder is working. If not, then you have a dead cylinder that isn't firing and need to be fixed. I suspect you have ignition issues AND carb problems as well. Maybe you need to buy a manufacturer's model, HP, year specific shop manual and start doing some of the maintenance work yourself instead of taking it to a shop... JMHO!

Well the boat is at home ready to be taken to the shop where I bought it from. I bought this boat back in February. It sat in my pole barn until the weather was good. I had to break in the motor by running a tank full of gas under 2500 rpms running at different rpms but staying under 2500. Did that. Started to running the second tank above 2500 running at different rpms above 2500. Had to go to the shop before I ran 1/4 tank of the second tank for carb adjustment would not idle. Took a week to fix that. Got it back the motor ran great for two more tanks then now this. This place is very reputable (spelling) for good work but slow at getting it done. I have been very respectable to him throughout all the problems I have been having so far and he has to me. But now I'm getting mad. Since the boats been at the slip he has had it long than its been in the water. Summer time I know is very busy for boat work. So I have been very understanding. Now I think I'm done being nice. I'm going to tell him he can work on it this whole week because I have all of next week of from work and I want to be able to be able to turn the key and go. By Friday. The warranty I have on the boat is I pay for half labor and parts. He has not charged me yet. Like I said he is a good guy. I'm done venting.

Well I stopped by the shop today and he has the motor running good on a hose but he wants to run it on the lake before he gives it back to me. To make sure it's running good. I asked him what he found that was wrong with it he told me that when they rebuilt the carbs the second carb's float must not have been adjusted correctly. So he fixed it and it seems to run good. So I guess I have to wait one more day. So if this fixes the problems. That make it 17 days he's had it to get it fixed.

Well the boat shop hopefully found out what is wrong with the boat he told me that it was the exauhst gasket that is bad. So I should have my boat back sometime this week.

Well I got the boat back today 33 days after I first brought it to him because of carb issues. It runs great now. It was the exhaust gasket. He put a new one on. Hopefully it runs good for the rest of the season now that I lost a month of the short boating season in Michigan.
