have been reading some post on here, I was going to buy marine ply to make a floor for my half cabin boat as factory is doesn't have one, and upon reading I was surprised to see (if I understood it correctly) that normal ply can be used as long as it is epoxy coated on both sides. I was also in shock at the price my local hardware shop was asking for a small piece of marine ply when id need 3 pieces totaling $440 dollars, or are there any other materials that i can use to make a floor as I want a flat even surface to carpet and for my children to walk on with ease

Just buy regular ply good on one side and rein coat the underside, glass on top.

Yep, go with the regular stuff, but try and get the A/B grade. It will have less knots.
