Problem seems to have changed-Evinrude

Thanks to Jim and Rick. I do not know what I have done, but when I took off the linkage and shifted manually, it changed things. Now the motor will go into foward gear. I noticed that (I do not know the part name) the catch piece on the back side of the motor that holds the screw and slide when you shift now goes into place as where it did not before. Here is the thing, it seems the gear lever will now not go into full reverse. So i found my foward problem, and i do not seem to go fast enough in reverse to make it pop out of gear. Does any have what I should do next. Thanks. :confused:

cplugpiranha,<br /><br />1) Your shift rod my not be set to the correct height.<br /><br />2) Look for an adjustment of the shift cable.<br /><br />3) You should stick with your original post so people know what is going on.
