I have a couple inch long gouges/deep scratches in the mid section of my 2015 Mercury outboard 150hp (prob around 1/6" deep, bare metal showing).

Which specific brand products do yall reccomend I use? i.e filler, primer, clear coat, etc.. And what are the proper steps?
I have some Moeller Mercury phantom black engine spray paint.
Doesnt need to be perfect but looking for a cost effective decent finish.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

I used " Krylon" gloss black from Walley World to touch up scratches on my 1992 Mercy lower unit....dead match ! Can't tell where stopped or started.

What type of filler/expoxy do yall reccomend? And is a clear coat finish needed?
None. You will get more scratches

Just hit the are with the moeller zinc dichromate primer. Then top coat

FYI, mercury phantom black is just PPG 9000 black. Same as GM black, Rust-Oleum black, etc

I had similar gouges on my 115hp last year. I used JB Weld Marine to fill the deeper ones, sanded smooth, then followed with the same Moeller primer and black top coat. Finish wasn’t perfect but held up great all season.

Just make sure everything’s clean and degreased before you start.

Gee, sand it down around the scratches until bare metal and feathered edges. Use some aluminum self etch primer and then spray with gloss black.
