Bought a HF lathe at a garage sale a couple three years ago and it's sat in the garage until yesterday. Haven't turned anything since high-school back in the early 80s. Here is last two mornings work. Three snowmen and a pig in oak unfinished and a walnut bowl finished with odies paste wax. All the sisters and mama have spoken for these already. I'll never make any dam money...

then the fake grandkid from across the road came over to steal his semi regular Fresca and wanted to build japanese practice swords aka a katana.

So I introduced him to power tools.

I turned the blanks on the lathe - he was fascinated but i think a bit advanced at the moment for him. Wrapped the handle with 1/8" jute using the spray glue i got for the car door panel.

So a little victory. Figured out I can use a modified ram 1514 flywheel with a 153 tooth flywheel, a 10.5" clutch disc, and a ram 401 pressure plate under a stock jeep bellhousing

Actually I took a bad choice I wanted the tree to cross through the ceiling but not supporting the structure so It had the tree house feeling, but that complicated everything, now Im trying to resolver the things.

was bored over T-day break. spent some time with some pics and a pencil.

rear axle may be moved aft a bit more, and the front axle may go a bit further forward. trying to get from 78" wheel base to 88" wheel base.

Height as shown is 47"

I think the wheel diameters are off a bit.

it was a "woody" with mahogany panels. whats left of the original wood is in the car that I could use as templates if needed.

going with carbon fiber inserts (see post #1)
