I have a 1995 Four Winns 258 Vista with a 5.8 liter King Cobra and OMC outdrive. The boat was purchased with an aluminum prop on the drive. I have beat up the prop and it needs to be changed. Upon purchase, the owner gave me a stainless steel prop in the box that he said was the original prop. I pulled the present prop and replaced with the original (never used) prop. But, now when you physically pull on the prop while on the trailer the prop has about 3/4 to an inch of "play." It appears that the nut does not "sit" down on the prop correctly. Is this too much play or am I looking at doing some damage to the shaft or other parts? I do not know the size and pitch of the two props, but can post that info this evening. In addition, does anyone know what the WOT for this boat is suppossed to be? Thanks, in advance, for all of the help that I may receive.
