Re: Prop choice

OK ... full throttle and trimmed out to just before cavitation ..
4800 rpm and 44 mph

Back to original Q ... what SS prop should I look at - wake, kneeboard, ski, hydrofoil .... all recreational only inshore salt water.

Getting on plane at lower speeds & staying on plane would be goal rather than top end .... 90% of use is 20 - 25mph

Rpm' s being good, I would pick a 14.5 X19 4 blade to give u more hole shot and pulling power. Brand....not sure, I am happy with my alum. Turning Point....and am tempted to buy the stainless version. 330 with next day delivery....though u will likely need the $30 hub unless u have a flo-torque or other compatible hub. Nav shack or other sites...just search.

I though current Mercruiser use Flo-Torque? or am I mistaken.

Newer, yes, but I didn't catch your model year. Easy to figure out, pull the old prop! Though you could probably punch in your year, etc... on google and find out. Think I will order the stainless Turning Point prop today.... Let us know what you choose and how it pans out.

Guess I will have to keep an eye on eBay for a High Five 19"
A new one in UK costs ?425 ($650)
Last time I fitted one, had one for 1/3rd price via eBay

Re: Prop choice

Should I be looking for 20" pitch High Five to match existing 4 Blade prop, or do I drop pitch to 19" ?

Just asking as seen an unused HighFive for sale ...it's a 20" pitch model.

Not sure on the high five...but thought I'd let you know that I picked up the Turning Point 4 blade stainless prop, and really like it. It holds great, bow stays down more take off, and speed is only down 1-2 mph. Pulled tubes and skiers all week, and the little ones like to go slow, and I was able to stay on plane pulling them right at 20.
