i just put a pre alpha on my chris craft, that had an alpha gen 1 on it. Both outdrives from 350 motors. it is solid in reverse, but in forward I can spin the prop by hand and hear a clicking sound. With it running it spins normal. I just feel that in the water it will slip? What should I do??

With it in forward, and spinning the prop forward; it should be locked.

I understood him to say, that it would click, when in forward, turning the prop in forward?

It will, they do.

In forward gear the prop will turn in the forward direction and click. If you try to turn the prop in the reverse direction (CCW) it will lock.

Re: prop clicking in forward

does it go click-click-click when you are in neutral and turn the prop by hand? if so your shift cable could be slightly out of proper length as mine was. i had to take about 7 threadlenghts out of my shift cable adjuster to get it right. take care.
