Is there any benefit/problem with using a prop cover to prevent rain, birdcrap and any other debree from creating a mother nature soup in the prop hub? When stowed my engine is almost horizontal and provides an attractive target.

Re: Prop Cover

Why not just take it off during storage? It will also insure that you do not have anything wrong, like fishing line or other debris, around the shaft. Then take a plastic baggie, put it over the shaft and seal with a rubber band, also stopping gunk from getting in your lower end seal, also! Just a thought! That's what I do over the winter!

Note: Store your Motor in the "Down" position if you live where it gets below freezing, to allow for water drainage. Very Important!!

Re: Prop Cover

NEVER store an engine in the full up position unless you keep it in the water...If you do keep it in the water then yes to the cover...
