We have a lot of manatee where I boat and I was wondering what some of the pros & cons are regarding the use of prop guards.

Are there any handling issues? Slower speed? More or less prop slip?

No prop to guards! Its no better to hit something with a guard on then it is to hit it with no guard. If you hit an object hard enough the guard is going to be processed through the propeller.

Be cautious when proceeding in an unknown waterway. Go slow, monitor the water depth. IF anyone is in the water near the boat the engine is in neutral and OFF - always!
