PROP HELP

My old prop got dinged up it was a 14.5 x 17 3 blade <br />the boat doesn't have a great hole shoot and rpm are <br />at about 4200-4300 shoule be about 4600-4800 for the <br />motor so got a 15 x 16 4 blade alum <br /><br />but hits the (not sure what you call it, the little<br />rutter adjust thing) by about maybe 1/4 inch on the very inside edge <br /><br />can you file that a little?<br />can't find 14.5 in 4 blade for it.<br />did find 14.25 x 15 in stainless 3 blade would that give me hole shot or is rpms going to be to high?<br />any help is appreciated.

Ayuh,..... The Trim Tab Anode Thingy.......<br /><br />If you have P/Steering,... You can use the 1 that's a Flat Plate.......<br />There's Several Profiles available,......<br />Your's is Easily trimmed,...... I'd cut it down so you have 3/8" to 1/2" clearence from the Prop,.. At it's Closest Point........ <br /><br />Your rpm quest sounds about right,.. But you don't say What motor.....<br />Each of the props you mention will have different Rake,+ Some, or None may interfere with the Tab,......<br />I'd just Cut It To Fit,...... ;)

thanks bondo, the motor is a 2.5 gm 120 hp.<br /> it only hits on the very front edge if I made that front start 1/2 back on the trim tab it would be fine.
