Hi, I have a 17.5 foot fish and ski boat and a 1985 90hp yamaha and want to know what prop I should get how does pitch matter? The OEM is 13x19 alum, 13x17 SS, or 14x20 high performance. What should I do?

Decide what rpm youre going to target with an average load. I'd guess 5800. Then decide what type prop youre going to use. Again, guessing stainless. Then define your useage. Guessing again, some skiing, some fishing. That will give you some idea about where to mount the motor.

What is the differance between pitch? Does one give higher speed than the other? Is one pitch better for sking?

Generally speaking -- generally, a lower pitch is desirable for skiing because you're increasing the load by quite a bit. It's easier on the motor and the skiier.

When setting up a motor for all around use outside of skiing, you'll want a prop and set up to get the motor into the top of the rpm band with an average load.

Speed and power are mutually exclusive. Low pitch = pulling power and hole shot. High pitch = reduced hole shot but higher speed, less pulling ability. Happiness is somewhere in between. You have two distinct requirements. Buy two props, one for water sports, one for your "go fast" activities -- or as Dhadley says, compromise and make sure the setup is correct.
