Hi guys I have a 1986 mercruiser 120 IO with a prop that has the # 992003 stamped on it with no other numbers on it. Can anyone tell me what it means as far as pitch and diameter. I need a new one and a friend gave me one with the number 43-78118_A40_17P.
Are they the same or ??? Thanks

Re: prop number question

The answer to your question is; yes, they are basically the same prop.

The 1/2" difference in dia will make the friend's prop run at slightly higher rpm; maybe 100 rpm faster.

Re: prop number question

Your friends, the one that is marked 17P. That one is the smaller diameter, 14.5". Where yours is 15". Basically, a wash......
