Hi, on my lower unit there is a sticker that says 12x22. What does this mean? is the 22 the distance in inches that the boat will move in the water per every 1 revolution of the prop? Thanks

Re: Prop numbers

Hi Theoreticaly your correct. That what it would travel in a perfect world! That distance is only theoretical though during acual operation the propeller only achieves about 80% of its travel
steve

Re: Prop numbers

Thanks. Would you consider my prop numbers a "low end" or "high end" pitch?

Re: Prop numbers

Hi I Think 22 pitch is on the high end of props. Its all up to your own liking. Somtimes you can't have the best of both worlds. Speed and power so you choose somthing in between. Its a trial and error meathod.
steve
