07 Merc 5.0 Alpha Drive. Is a prop puller needed to remove a prop? Is this a tool I must have on the boat with my spare prop?

Is a prop puller needed to remove a prop?

Nope,.......
At least Not as long as the propshaft was Greased before the prop was installed.......
And,....
If you Don't grease it,.... It usually takes Alot more than a puller to get it off,.....
More like Grinders,+ Torches.......

Re: Prop Puller

As Bond-o says, no puller needed as long as prop shaft was greased. Should slide right off after removing nut. When you replace prop, make sure you grease the splines. I use Merc. teflon grease available at any boating supply store.
