I was suggesting GW go back and look at Kenny's last post on this thread. I think he (Kenny) has a prop located to try on the Ranger. Should be interesting.

Guys, thanks for your time on this. I am learning alot.

Are add-on water pressure guages readily available?

Ron B - where are you measuring? Right now, the centerline of my prop is 4.5 inches below the pad.

At 4.5" on the propshaft centerline below the pad that should put the AV plate at about 3" or so up. Sound about right? Can you go up anymore?

Yes, water pressure gauges are very available. They sell them here or your dealer should stock them. It'd be odd for an OMC / BRP dealer not to have one. Very very simple to install. No big deal at all.

It looks like the plate is about 3.5 inches above bottom of boat. It looks like the engine can easily slide up about a half inch or so.

I'd give that prop Walleyehed has a try. Try it at the height you're at and then up. I'd bet the performance improves which would indicate that a jackplate, and the ability to go higher, would continue to help.

I've decided to give the prop Walleyehed mentioned a try. I will post results soon as I get the prop and get a chance to get the boat in the water.

Ron G, after looking at myboat the other day, I realized the design does have an offset motor, just as you mentioned in an earlier post. My initial response was not correct.
