First, I apologize in advance for writing this BOOK.

96 ProCraft V-180 F&S w/ 96 Mariner 115 (2+2)

Typical Merc/Mariner jetting (fat) dropped floats @ 1/16 inch and switched plugs from NGK BPZ8 to BPR7HS, they now burn the color of a light brown paper bag w/the Shooter, a bit darker w/Laser II

Cav plate dead even with keel

1st prop Merc Laser II 13 1/4 X 22 3 blade SS large vents (factory)
Literally JUMPS out of the water screaming over 6 G, noses over and bites, RPM drops to @ 5400 and rapidly accelerates to 6100, GPS 37 mph, flat water on the lake.

2nd prop OMC Shooter 13 1/2 X 23 4 blade SS small vents (factory)
Moderately climbs its way up out of the water, then moderately accelerates to a top of 5250, GPS 42 going downstream on the river. Upstream, 5000 GPS 38

I'm thinking raise the engine mount 1 1/2 to 2 inches, the ProCraft has a 'step' under the rear, the cav plate is dead even w/ the actual keel but that is about 6 inches forward of the transom.

Drill the vents in the OMC Shooter, enlarge to 3/8 currently a hair under 1/4

Get busy and lose 50 lb off my belly and *****

Have a LOT of cup put into the Laser II

Comments, suggestions?

I think you're on the right track by raising the engine. I'm sure you'll be able to spin the 23 or more. That motor should be higher with a stepped hull. Sent you an IM.
