Re: Prop ?'s

Well the possibilty exsists that the motor will not handle the load and could harm the motor. Try it just be aware of how it's pulling the load. If it does not pull WOT (proper rpms) then just use it for trading material.

Kinda like pulling tree stumps with a toyota corolla....on a good day small trees fall.

Bob

Re: Prop ?'s

What boat and what year motor? Also need to know what rpm range the outboard is supposed to run.

21 pitch seems way too much. You won't be able to keep the rpm up.

You want the largest pitch prop that will give you maximum speed without dropping below your rpm range. A 15 or 17 pitch is probably what you need.

Sounds wrong. First of all you'd have to look long for a 21" for a 60hp. Not many make these as nobody uses it.

Next to that, you really should define what you have. Existing motor, prop and acchieved rpm at WOT and boat size & hull design.

Based on this info (especially the RPM) find out what is the problem with the existing setup and what you want from a new setup.

If you want the book (free download) 'Everything you need to now about propellers', visit http://www.iboats.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=17;t=014920
