Just to prove a point, you could put a nut on the end of the prop shaft, get a three jaw slide hammer and see if you could get it completely apart.

I did remove the prop shaft; but certainly not textbook! After soaking in penetrant and addind a little heat combined with brute force it came out BUT it TORE the metal on the shift cradle pulling it loose from the shifter and it left the rear bearing and housing in there!
