I have a 2003 18'2 " nitro NX882 bass boat with a 7" setback, mercury 150 xr6
Stats
Tempest 23 pitch 59 mph at 6300 rpm two people tournament load
Yamaha M25 pitch 62.7 mph at 6000 rpm two people tournament load
Unfortunately there are no higher pitched propellers in my area to try because nobody else requires higher than a 25 pitch propeller. Max rpm on this engine is 5600 rpm. I guess I'll have to order a 27 pitch prop just so I can try it. My math says speed could be around 67 mph at 5600-5700 rpm? Does this sound right for stock engine except for the .30 over pistons? Why does everyone else around here run 23 pitch propellers on similar boats at around 60 mph. Why is my mine so fast?
No, I'm not complaining, It just doesn't seem right.
