Proper trim tab adjustment

Hi guys. Well getting ready to put in and I was sitting staring at the back of my boat and was thinking the trim tab was pointing the wrong way. I rebuilt the water pump and did a regular service on it and I can't remember which way to put the tab. I realize one would adjust it if required, but as a rule which direction do we start from. I'm thinking a hair of center to the starbord.

for CW drives:
for non power steering try center to just a hair to starboard. for power centered is fine. adjust as needed after.

CCW is just the opposite

This always get confusing in the lingo...most I/O's need to have the TRAILING edge of the tab to port:
