Proper Use Of Fish Well

I am new to Having a boat with fish wells in them (2 in rear of floor) I have a 1996 2352 WAC . I know how to use my baitwell under Helm seat but like I said Im new to these and I feel like an idiot asking . Do you just put ice in them and fish to keep ? Thanks alot Dave

I have a 2302 and have the same. when I first got the boat, I'd fill'em up with tons of ice for my catch.....alot of money for all that ice, and not that great of a blue water fisherman. So now I use them to be fish lockers in the winter and 1/2 fill with the cold water to keep my catch. In the summer I really don't use them except for my fenders. I'll use my big cooler for the catch, I'll buy 4 or 5 bags of ice and they keep all day and more.
