The variable pitch props shift pitch while underway, like some airplane propellors. (I think that's what you were asking about in another post.) Adjustable pitch like these is akin to selecting a gear to use on your 12 speed bike, and then only being able to use that gear.

Still, for the price it beats the cost of experimenting by trying different conventional props with different pitches.
