I want to put something in the gas tank to help keep the carbs flowing smoothly..I somtimes have gas in for a week before I use it.
What other additives can be used to clean and keep running smooth?
Thanks,,Mike

I've never read any cons about Sea Foam. I use it in all my engines.

Week old gas is not going to cause you any probalm, not even a month old. If it starts get old than 2 months, then you should add stabil or SeaFoam. Seafoam is good stuff, don't be afraid to use it as directed on the can.

Another 2 cents.... I love sea foam. Use it in everything when it needs it. Just like the can says works great. I used it in my old subarus as well- 1/3 in the oil, 1/3 in the tank, and 1/3 down its throat... Cleans out alot of carbon and varnish. Whats the can say about outboards?

To quote the website:

"SEA FOAM was developed originally for the marine market?"That's why the great name SEA FOAM." Fred Fandrei, the founder of SEA FOAM, showed Evinrude Outboard Motors how to solve their stale fuel, varnish and carbon problems with its use. "

Re: Pros & Cons of Seafoam in gas tank

I wonder why my outboard mechanic said dont use it?????
He said he wanted to do a carb job,,note,,he never looked at the carbs,,never mentioned to me that they even needed to be looked at..said when I last picked up my engine that it was ready to go and running gooooooood!,,,first day out had problems,,,took it back to him and he said its ready to go now,,,same problem still exists..seafoam in the gas was recommended highly by fellow boater . Thats why I posted here to see what you guys thought,,looks like I will be getting some Sea Foam now,,,Thanks ,and any more info would be appreciated,,Mike
