psi reading on 1997 evinrude 40 hp

My 40 evinrude is reading 90 and 92 psi. Is this in permissible range for psi. It is a 1997 on pontoon boat. Thanks.

Probably means the engine is a little down on power but it should still run smoothly since the numbers are so close. You might want to do a de-carbonizing process to see if that brings compression up. Rings that are stuck due to carbon creates compression loss.

Compression gauges also vary.

If it runs fine all good. If it runs rough consider a can of OMC engine tune and follow all the directions on can. If it ain't broke don't fix it.
