PT&T Remote control?

Does anyone know if the connections are the same for the PT&T between the 1984 2 cylinder models and the newer style 1988 3 cylinder units? I ask because I have a PTT control from a 3 cylinder that the engine is destoryed and have located a nice running 55hp that has the old style PTT on it.

Didn't by the 84 but instead bought a 1983 60hp 2 cylinder for a very reasonable price and now have my eye on a PTT unit for this but still need to find out if the plug form the 1988 70hp is the same as used on the older 2 cylinder units.

Anyone have any idea or info on this?
