Rebuilding 1997 Yamaha 150HP 2 stroke S150TXRV powerhead.
( Click here to view updated blog with new pictures )

Rodbolt, read your explanation of puddle valves, and it helped, but still have questions ( manual is incomplete ).

Cleaning the block today I blew compressed air into my puddle valves from the outside to inside and all allowed unrestriced air to pass except for #3 which appears 90% blocked.

Blowing from inside of cylinder puddle-valve-opening to the outside is blocked on all cylinders (no flow).

Looked at a parts website and noticed that I have "check valve" and "check valve assembly".

Is this correct operation with the exception of #3?

What to do with #3?

Re: Puddle Valve Inconsistancy

just snatch them all out and replace them, not like they are expensive.
they are a light press fit in the block.
i usually wipe them with gel seal or the loctite 517 that you use for the crank case halves.
