Hey guys - owned this '89 omc for 3 yrs now. Decided to do gimbal service this spring. We removed the pivot housing and the gimbal bearing -- the surface behind the gimbal bearing shows some stress-type cracks. They're not on the machined surface, but on the rough casting surface - if that's of any significance.<br /><br />The pic isn't perfectly in focus but I think you can see what I'm concerned about...do you think I should be??<br /><br />
<br /><br />One other question - the part I circled - isn't that where the shift cable bellow should be? <br />
<br />There was nothing there when I pulled the pivot hsg. Could not having that part installed for 3+ yrs cause any problems?
