When I pull my patoon it like to sway back and forth at about 60mph. Is it better to have a wider tire then a skinny tire on the trailer. I have a Ford F-150 to tow it. Truck does not have a problem towing it for sure. Why does it sway at 60mph??

Tires don't matter

1. Poorly designed trailer
2. Trailer not level
3. Not enough tongue weight

Agree not enough tongue weight. Simplest way to fix that is to just to move the boat ahead if that's possible.

If not, most boat trailers are designed so that you can slide the axle and suspension back to increase tongue weight.

Ayuh,...... Welcome Aboard,..... Lack of tongue weight is likely the problem,........

I like 10% / 12% on the hitch,.....

I sneak the bathroom scale out. Works just fine as long as I don't get caught.

I don't think you need to be real precise. If it's REALLY heavy when you try to pick it up, it's generally fine....

Hope you not hooked up on the bumper and the trailer tongue is higher than the back of the trailer. If so level it.
