30mph = concrete on water. That's WAY too fast for a tube. Most slalom skiers don't like going that fast! Max tube speed maybe 22-24mph - unless they ask you to go faster! Generally that only happens once....

That was me last weekend. Was sore all week.

I have a merc and pull a 3 person tube from the tow eye. Mine has never done what you are experiencing. It is a lot harder to get on plane but doesn't "peel out" like yours.
Thanks good first had experience is what really helps. Are you using full throttle to get up on plane?

I will normally go from a pretty high idle to almost full throttle and then back down when I get close to the speed I want to be going. My trim is all the way in when taking off and don't think I ever trim out much while towing.

Me too. High idle to get the rope tightened and tube pointed in the right direction (you also have the rider's attention at this point), then full throttle to stretch the rope and pop the tube onto the top. Accelerate for just a second, then adjust throttle to your intended speed. You'll do all that without a second thought after a while.

What you don't want to do is yank on a tube, especially if someone that's a little hesitant is on it. There's a good chance you'll yank the tube right out from under them!

I do the same for starting out, sounds like I will have to do some checking. I could only get to 2/3 throttle on launch before ventilating/slipping. I have been around boats, tubing and skiing for a long time so the normal stuff I do know. I just have never ran this big of a boat with an I/O.
