As rodbolt says, when a magnet breaks it becomes 2 magnets, north/south at the break. I always thought magnets were unrepairable but an electic tech friend just told me of a product sold at electronic shops called ferroflux that is specialty epoxy with steel fillers that can make the magnet 'whole' again...that is one magnet. If you just glue 2 peices together you will have 8 magnets and the cdi won't handle it.
OMC sells best epoxy for re-installing the repaired magnets to fly wheel.
No reply from ebay seller about that flywheel yet-no shipping reply for stator I purchased either-might not like the auction result

There is a complete red stator/flywheel/voltage regulator, rev limiter, 3 coils and wires, wiring harness conversion kit available to upgrade electronics, if you ever need to change stator go this route. Match your engine # to see if available:

The Mercury part number is 835084A1 CDM CONV KIT-90J -List price $725.55 but can be found for $616.19 at Stemtostern.com or Mercruiserparts.com

Hopefully ferroflux fixes magnets...cheaper than another flywheel-wonder why replacement magnets unavailable.
