Purchasing 1996 Yamaha 200 Saltwater II Series

I am getting ready to purchase a boat with a 1996 Yamaha 200 Saltwater series II motor. Are there any problems intrinsic to this motor. Seller says motor has prox 300 hours and it looks almost new (under cowling and exterior). Any recurring problems with this motor? Anything I should be looking for when doing test drive? Overall opinions of this motor would be greatly appreciated. Thanks very much for all replies. I can't afford to get burned on this deal.

Get the cylinders compression tested!

make sure the lower unit can separate.

Motor is model S200TXRV. It has been maintained and serviced in December with impeller and tuneup done by Yamaha dealer. Does this motor have a good history? What are good and bad points of this motor? If properly maintained how many hours should this be good for? Thanks

Do a compression test warm and cold and a spark test
