wifey's puter deleted her entire address book outa<br />the blue??? found the *.wab file still intact, but<br />haven't been able to import it??? when I tried,<br />it imported names, not the actual address?<br />virus? norton says no...<br />any help is appreciated,<br />M.Y.

Did it have all your names?<br /><br />Do you have Outlook installed (part of MS Office Package) Maybe try inporting into there to at least get the addresses and then export to comma dilimidated.<br /><br />only thing I can think of, as .wab can't be opened in notepad.

try looking in this folder:<br />C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Microsoft\Address Book<br />that is where Outlook Express stores mine.

well, I have been able to import an address book<br />but not a contact list??? what am I overlooking here?

Mellow...you're probably going to need a recovery utility...<br /><br />These are a lot of programs out there to accomplish the task, most are pay for play.<br /><br />Here's a start:<br /> Link....
