Just got my first boat, I can launch it good, when I remember to put the plug in. Have had to pull it out a couple time to put the plug in after drainning 50 gal of water, lol. Well my problem is, when I drive it up on the trailer, I eighter get it to far back, hook the wench and pull it up a little, back down a little and pull it some more, or pull the triler down into the water alot and bust the front of the boat up with the wench( last night) when I pull it on. I've seen people putting them in so I got that down ( except the plug) but what the corect way of mounting one. It a 17.5' rally cruiser. Seems like I should lower the wench, What do you think... anyone:confused:

I can get a picture tomorrow. Come to think about it, when I put it on, it always goes on croked. It a bass boat trailer, so not the right trailer, but I'm not buying another trailer, I should be able to make this work. I'm thinking of putting another rail, to lift the front of the boat a little more, but I'll take a pic. that would be the best thing.

Next time you launch the boat back in really slow and as soon as the boat comes off the trailer stop and get out and see how far the trailer is in.

When you retreive the boat back in as far as you did to launch then pull forward just a bit, you want to be sure the trailer grabs the boat.

New boaters almost always back in way to far and there isn't enough of the trailer for the boat to sit on so it ends up crooked.

Your winch needs to be in line with the bow hook on the boat.

Hey guys, I see my problem, my bunker sits low in the front. So when pulling the boat with the winch, the front of the v comes up off the bunker. I'll check and see if it ajustable. If not I'll have to modifie, that a question in it own. I'll get back soon with the pic.
