QL77JC4, plug gap?

I got 4 new Champion QL77JC4's to put in my 1985 90 hp Johnny. I've seen several gap recommendations including one back in 2003 of .040 from Joe Reeves. The book calls for .030 and I'm wondering where you guys think I should gap them, and if it's different from the book what changed our minds?

.030 should be good. Crack them open a bit, if you don't go wide open often.

it's generally accepted wisdom around here that if you do a lot of trolling, .035 or even .040 will help keep the spark plugs from fouling so often. But absent that particular problem, .030 is the way to go.

I do my trolling on the MinnKota, but do have a lot of long no wake areas. I think I'll put them at .035 and see how they work. Thanks guys.
