You know you can do that with Smart Tabs instead of the foils and it doesn't have anything to wreck your transom.

:D Sorry, I couldn't help myself. It would probably be really quiet and smooth.

Is different and may be fun once or twice. Should be smoother in small chop sea but much more then that I could see an issue.

For 28K I would spend less and maybe get the Flyboard. Would probably burse my self some getting use to it but think it would be a blast

Looks like it use a motor similar to the Torqueedo "electric outboard". It would be ok in small chop if it has some sort of auto ride control (like big hydrofoils do). One issue is hitting debris at speed, The foils are probably not up for hitting a log or even a big stick at speed. If a foil comes off or even gets bent the ride will get interesting really fast.

A long time ago they tried running hydrofoils between Seattle and Vancouver Island. It didn't last very long because the foils kept getting damaged by hitting stuff in the water. The boats could not travel fast if not planing. If the foils got damaged on a trip it would have to finish the run (or return) at hull speed. In that case conventional ships making the trip were faster and more reliable.

One of two things is going to happen. Twenty years from now, someone will be on here saying "What the heck is this boat, and how do I restore it....."

But will they be talking about this hydrofoil.....or my Starcraft Holiday?

Where do I put my beer cooler? I know leave her behind at the dock and set the cooler in the seat... :D

Something tells me that wasn't filmed in slow motion...
