I just got a free upgrade from qwest for my home DSL from 256/256 to 1.5mbps/900kbps service.
Problem is my laptop doesn't get more than 300kbps on download. I have tested this many different ways but looking to DSLreports as the benchmark.
I have an IBM T42 laptop with 1.5Gb Ram and the 802.11b wireless connection.
My wife has an HP laptop that can achieve a realistic 1.3+mbps download using the same test. Her laptop has the 802.11G wireless but I find it hard to believe that the 11B is limiting my download that much.
Anyone out there have any clue as to what I should be looking at or is the 11B wireless limiting me??
I did a tweak test and the line test and eveything came out fine..
