question about engines

i have a 24 foot parti kraft pontoon, with an evinrude 48 special. it is underpowered and i want to upgrade the boat with a mercury fuel injected 150. will my boat hold this engine?

ps, i would know but the plate is not there so i do not know

What year is your toon? 2 tubes or 3?

sorry about this old topic. we have 2 pontoons not 3, and they are both original that came with the boat, its a 1996. we decided instead of upping the power to a bigger motor, we are going to keep the old eveinrude 48special and fix the stator. we went out the 4th of july with it and we were keeping up with all the 115'sn so it aint a half bad engine
