My Ranger Reata with an F150TXR came factory rigged with the motor set at the highest level and a 21 prop. It turned 6000 rpm but the performance was terrible.
Yamaha exchanged the powerhead at 15 hours after the balance unit failed. They lowered the motor down and installed a 19 prop. The performance improved greatly and for a while it turned 6000 rpm but then it slowly came down to 56/5700 range without any changes.
I raised it up one hole and the rpm come up to 59/6000 rpm. I ran it twice this week and its back in the 56/5700 range.
What is going on?
