As you saw i was running my o/b with 50:1 for the half of the season. I see that you seem to be a yamaha expert. I am still scared as that it dosent seem to use much oil out of the external tank. It does fill the tank under the cowl just fine but im worried that the precision blend is not giving it enough oil to lube the cylinders. It just seems like it uses nowhere near as much oil as other O/B's that ive pre-mixed. I usually dont run at wot verry much. I tend to keep it around 3000 - 4000 rpm. It runs great at 5000 - 5900 but i dont like how much fuel it uses. 3-4k seems to be my crusing speed and fuel efficent rpm. Here im running between 25-35 rpm. My question is what is the best way to ensure that oil injection is working 100 percent? Im still mixing 100:1 as thats what the yamaha dealer says most still do even though there is the precision blend system. my clymers manual says that the way to test it is to- Run at 1500 rpm and then disconnect the oil line to the cylinder, then measure what comes out of there for 3 min, and it should equal 2.6-4.0 cc's in the 3 min. Well its pretty hard to get to these tubes in the first place and 2nd its hard to measure cc's. Is there a better way to test the system?? Also there is cylinder suction to these lines when i unplug them and i think that helps the oil to the cylinder. When i unplug to measure oil output obviously there is no suction. Im not sure if im supposed to adjust the linkage if im not getting the correct cc's? And when i say that i havent been using much oil through the Precision blend system i realise that at idle it is only mixing something like 100:1 and at wot its something like 50:1. Maybee since im not running at wot a lot thats why its not using that much. Can you help me out brother? Thanks a lot rod!! you helped me get this thing installed and i only had to post 1 time about the motor. I just read your previous posts. Thanks again!!
