Ok....I disconnected the Vro and drained my tank. But...there maybe a couple of gallons in the tank that don't come out. Since I'm gonna fill the tank...should I mix the first time 40:1 because I don't know how much fuel was left in there? Or maybe go like 45:1. The tank is under/in the hull so other than the needle showing empty...I'm really not sure. I've practically exhausted my hand priming the bulb trying to get every last drop out ,but there is some left.
Also....how do you guys start the engine when the boat is been sitting for a week at home. Do you guys use a portable tank or once it's mixed...it's ok to start it up after a week just sitting there?

40:1 will give you some assurance.

Once the fuel/oil is mixed, it stays that way.

Driving back from the gas station will mix it.

You need to get the un-oiled fuel out of all the lines, JQuest. Starting up on pure gas could destroy your engine.

If you can get the outlet of the line below the tank it will siphon empty once you get it started. If you can't do that, try pressurizing the tank to force it empty.

Failing all that, pump a quart or two out through the primer bulb after you have the tank full of a safe mix, then hook it to your engine.

Good luck. :)

And lets not forget to MIX after refilling. I have a jug labled marked 10 and 5. I use this much oil for 10 gallons or this much oil for 5 gallons. so now I can mix really any amount.

My only fear is forgeting to mix since ive never had to before..

Just keep it in mind

Thx mateys.....
Yeah...after I filled up with gas and oil..I was gonna drive around for a bit then prime the bulb 'til I saw dirty (oil mixed ) gas coming out of the line. then hook it up.
