OK, I went and looked at the motor today. the motor looks like new and in great shape from looking it over, the bad news is I didn't get to start it because it wasn't on a stand to do it and it doesn't have a wire harness and I dont know what was what on the plug in for the harness. I'm going to put both the model number and serial number on here and from the numbers I can read, it not a 1979 but I think its a 81 model. here is the model# E150ELENC and the serial number is 0 031411819. it was a coast guard motor at one time. you can tell by the way it was hanging, it was being stored in a building that he stores his equipment and he told me about the rebuild and that it was tank tested before brought there. anyway, Im going to try and find out more about this motor and maybe you all can tell me more. I do have pics of the motor if anyone wants to see them, just let me know. I went to look up but cant find what year that motor is, can you? I would like to start this motor but it doesnt have the harness and I don't know what to do when looking at the plug. what to connect or cross and I don't want to do the wrong thing either. Thanks

Re: Question on year od motor

That is what I'm finding. when I found it for sale. the guy said it was 1979 but when I looked at it today and put down a deposit, I wrote done the model and serial and I looked at it and didn't look that old to me. I'm getting it for 1,200 dollars. I thought it may have been a 81 by the numbers but as like you. I found the model number came up with a 92 motor. you can tell the motor was put up for storage and it looks like new. unfortunately I cant seem to post pics on here but they are always too big.

You'll cause problems starting new threads like this when you are getting expert help on the original post.

Sorry about that. is there a way to delete all my post and start with one thread? I thought after asking a new question, I had to start a new one. I hate being new to this. sorry for not doing it right. I also did this for I didnt get more answers from other post. If I re post, I seem to get a response a lot faster.

Re: Question on year od motor

I have posted this question in both my old post and the new one that Iwas told would cause a problem but after a few times it seems that your answers dont come for awhile. I wished there was way to delete them after so many days due to they pretty much go cold. I have been trying to find more about the motor I bought. thanks guys for the help you have given to me during my post.
