Quick thinking at the ramp

If I?ve told you this story before, don?t stop me, I wanna hear it again ? I like it. Brother in law, myself, and Andy were launching a Monterrey Park, (very popular for bass tournaments, nice 4 lane ramp, poor lighting) well before daylight one Saturday morning. The ramp was very busy as one or more tournaments were happening that day. Brother in law and I were in the boat when Andy launched us. We cranked up, dodged other boats (probably 10 -12 either beached or warming up), and waited for Andy to arrive from the parking lot. We waited longer than I thought we should when Andy comes walking up from the wrong direction. We pulled up and he hopped in. He was giggling and just about to burst. As we were easing off toward the no wake buoy, he pointed at a beached boat, which had similar markings as mine (primarily white boat with a dark stripe), and he said ?I walked up to that boat, shoved it off, hopped in the boat, was standing on the front deck, when the boat driver said ?Well... I guess you are fishing with us today?

We ended up getting Andy back and had a good day fishing.

Fortunately, the other boater had a good sense of humor.

Names have not been changed in order to embarrass the parties involved.

That is funny... I would bring it up every so often also, just for the fun of it.

Did that with a rental car in Albuquerque once. Came out of the hotel, opened the car with the key, started it up and went on my way to a business conference. I was about 5 blocks away before I realized that the car was a different color than the one I rented. Stopped, got out and compared the license plate with the plate number on the key fob - sure enough, not the same car but the dang key worked in it!

I went back to the hotel and got the right car, but I have always wondered if the other person came out and found the car gone. If so, he/she must have felt really stupid if the cops were called, but I returned the car before they showed up!
